Tree surveying – contracted tree surveying company to assess the trees onsite. They will check all tagged trees, assess the condition of them, evaluate and feedback to Tracey – remedial works to then take place at the end of March.
Replacement road signage – Cartwright close replaced next week, the corner of Swynford and Senliz road sign was damaged and has been replaced, the curb stones in Senliz`and Fishbourne way are to be completed and lockable bollards will replace the bollards on the cobbled path to the dog walking area.
Landscaping – Whitings to remove the irrigation pipes to trees as well as any remaining tree straps as part of their winter works on site, any damaged wooden edging is also to be repaired/replaced, this will be completed by the end of March.
Pesticides update – Encore have posted an update on the ‘Places app’ about this. Whitings confirmed they use herbicide for control but this targets vegetation only. All operatives undertaking the pesticide administering are fully trained, certified and follow controlled spot spraying methods via their own training matrix, this includes spraying close to the ground as possible to prevent airborne travel, spraying is halted if a member of public is approaching down wind. The herbicide used is not considered dangerous and complies with the laws which consists of rigorous assessment of the product. When applied correctly, risk of exposure is very very low.
Phase 4 consultation
Mike Jenner the Development Manager for U&C in attendance.
Confirmation that Barratt submitted planning last Tuesday for the Grange Farm North section of phase 2. A gentle reminder of the train station land being available and is overseen by council, rail etc.
Phase 4 will be largely a residential parcel, the obligation is to have submitted by May 2026 to build in Summer 2027. This will include utilising a different approach to play, a ‘play along the way’ concept to link up with Runway Park and the Sports Hub. There will be an element of commercial use, links to country park and continuation of leisure route alongside sports pitches at the new sports hub.
Please see the link below for the online consultation, please do take the time to submit a response.
