Gritting – if you have queries about the gritting in your area, please contact the generic customer care email address for the house builder to chase.
Ponds – the aquatic vegetation clearance is now taking place for all the suds, it started on Tuesday and will be finished on Friday, please note the vegetation will be left at the side. This clearance doesn’t include the pond tidy as this is a separate task and will be done by the end of the month. Tracey to chase whether the stumps from the self seeded trees will be removed.
Second notice board – confirmation that this will be installed at the entrance of Elizabeth Walk, there has been a slight delay due to underground electrical cable placement but the contractors now have the plans needed to fit the notice board safely. It should be up and running by the end of February.
Allotments – all plots are filled and there is currently no waiting list, should you wish to join the waiting list, please contact Tracey directly.
Tracey is on site Friday 6th February morning if there are any queries you would like to address in person.
The Library Presents
Welcome Nathan Jones the coordinator for ‘The Library Presents’ – There is a live voting system online to choose which events the community would like to see in Alconbury Weald across 2026. You can vote for multiple options and the voting will close on 20th February. The second workshop with Matty Long, the children’s author, will be in the Club on 18th February. AGM
Stepping down – Current Chair, Secretary and Treasurer will step down but remain within the group to support as volunteers. Unless all positions are filled then the Community Interest Company part of the Community Association will close down at the end of February which removes available finances for the community. Natalie will oversee the Food Festival, Beer Festival and Heritage Day. A committee member has come forward to run the Scarecrow Festival again for 2026.
All costs for the next running year are available with support for handover should any residents be interested in taking up these positions, information is readily available on the Facebook and WhatsApp pages and should you wish to obtain more information, please contact alconburywealdca@gmail.com directly.
Should the CIC dissolve, all Prize Draw entrants will receive a full refund of their charges.
Business Event
The annual Business Event will be returning for its second year, following a great success in 2025. The event will be held at The Pavilion on Sunday 23rd March with more information to follow. There are currently 23/24 businesses signed up.

The remaining Bank funds of £500ish, where should this go?
We would like this to be used for the benefit of the Community. Any ideas for funding uses should the CIC dissolve will need to be with us by 14th February as the accounts need closing at the end of February.
Please email alconburywealdca@gmail.com with any ideas/suggestions you may have.
AOB
There are Carcinogenic’s in the pesticides in Alconbury Weald, Encore have confirmed these are being used on site by Whitings. The chemicals in these can be transferred to play equipment. There has already been a move to organic products for use at the allotments so perhaps this can be replicated across the site. Contact will be made with Encore to query the change and residents can spread awareness of this across the WhatsApp group chat and social media platforms to gain a bigger presence to encourage change.
Suggestions received as to how to raise awareness of the Community Association. Ali to post online after the meeting.
Query – Is it worth reaching out to the PTA again for collaborative support?
Date of next meeting – Wednesday 4th March 7:30pm poll in committee group for in-person/hybrid meeting vs online meeting confirmation will be sent by the 15th of February.
