Notes from 3rd December 2025

1. Encore – Tracey is on annual leave so no representative at the meeting this month. Positive feedback was given on the school plaza Christmas tree. Swynford allotment plot price 12.5% increase not communicated in advance, to be raised with Tracey.
2. Garland Park presentation by Kit and Charlie – residents voted on which structures they would like to see in the play sections, suggestion to amend covered hut to transform into climbing frame also. Feedback from residents about more play needed for teenagers.

4. Christmas Market summary – £370 was made through stall fees, 64 gifts given out by Santa’s Grotto and £15 was made from the sale of a donated A3 print on the Community Association stall. The CA stall activity of letters to Santa, 10 letters received and responses will be sent. Selection of stalls were handpicked this year to provide a variety. New AWCA gazebo up in full glory. Feedback supportive of stall selection and suggest indoor location for next year. Positive collaboration with the PTA, potential of indoor market at the school next year, to discuss in future meeting.
5. Finance update – Christmas market money has been banked and there are funds available to create branded clothing/hats, will discuss in the new year.
6. Prize Draw – The December winners, 1st prize £12.50 to no. 0011, 2nd prize £7.50 to no. 0018, and 3rd prize £5 to no. 0024.
7. Alconbury Weald Community Association AGM – The association has been a Community Interest Company now for 2 years. Jeremy, Celina and Charlotte have held post for the duration of this as the Chair person, Treasurer and Secretary, respectively. These positions will be eligible for reallocation at the February AGM, all candidates must apply should they wish to hold post whether new or existing candidate. The AWCA is also looking for volunteer roles for an Events team and a Comms team as well support with funding applications and additional residents and volunteers to support in meetings and events/activities.
8. Next meeting – will be held on Wednesday 7th January at 7:30pm on Teams.
