- Charlotte from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner – the OPCC is an Elected body currently held by Darryl Preston, he is the face and voice of community holding police to account. Charlotte’s role is to meet community members and raise awareness. There’s a few ways we as the community can get involved – we’ve asked for more info on this and will send it out once received. It was agreed that the coffee with a cop is a good option that we can help on and we will try to arrange something for the community to meet the local neighbourhood team.
- Marianne (Smart Journeys) – App bikes are now located at the Co-op, Swynford Park and Crescent Park, FYI accounts can take 24-48 hours to be set up. If you have any feedback on the scheme and locations they’re taking feedback please email smart journeys on alconburyweald@smartjourneys.co.uk
- 13th September Funday update – Volunteers needed to man the stall 2-3 and 3-4 please. We have 18 pitches registered, and have received raffle prizes from local companies. We will be boosting this with £100 from the Parish Grant funds and £100 from our pot, to make a really good raffle prize selection.
- Sunflower competition – We have a winner for the biggest flower head and the tallest sunflower winners will be contacted in the coming days.
- Scarecrow Festival – Those who registered need to inform us they have collected their straw by 13th scarecrows to be on the map and in the competition. Scarecrows will be all across the development and need to be up by 20th and up until 28th. Like last year the judging will be on facebook with the most likes deciding the winner (Facebook group can be found here > https://www.facebook.com/groups/1145499562727834/ )
- 2026 Events – please start thinking about what events you want to host next year let me know what you want to put on and what budget you need so I can start getting funding applications in if required
- AWCA Prize Draw – we introduced our Prize Draw Wheel on the call this evening and our prizes are as follows;
- 1st Place £8 to AWCA0006
- 2nd Place £5 to AWCA0010
- 3rd Place £3 to AWCA0008

- Finance Update;
- Stukeley Parish Grant £100 remains which will be used for the Raffle
- Urban & Civic funds completed
- Quality of Life funds completed
- Breheny funds used for the Straw for the Scarecrow Festival
- Hardship Fund – 2 grants provided over the summer for families on the weald
- Community Pot is healthy but we would like to apply for more funding and a barrier to this is that we don’t have our own PLI – Celina will be getting this sorted
